Acer Aspire S5

Have you ever heard about Acer Aspire S5? We are sure that you all have heard. Acer was one of the first companies to jump into the pool of Ultrabooks. You know, the Aspire S Series Ultrabook™ frees you to go mobile like never before.
The display panel is 1366 x 768, which is as common as one could possibly imagine.

Well, guys, the Aspire S5 Ultrabook™ are shaver thin at just 11 mm. And there is MagicFlip, a panel which closes up to hide the ports and slims down the profile at the same time. You know, when it's open, you have access to Thunderbolt™, USB 3.0 and HDMI.
It is true that the Aspire S5 is supremely portable and as game as you are for all your day's adventures. It is easy to carry and handle with its ultra-slim profile. The weight is 1.2 kg and it is barely noticeable on the go. Its sturdy Mg-Al chassis withstands bumps on the road, and Acer TheftShield secures your S5 in public places.
Moreover, the Ivy Bridge Intel Core i7-3517U processor runs at a nominal 1.9GHz clock speed and is able to punch up to 2.8GHz on two cores or 3GHz on a single core, so at least from a CPU performance perspective the S5 should be a pretty capable machine.

The Acer S5 has some oddities, however. The laptop has not one but two solid state drives – a pair of 128GB drives linked via RAID0. And it is completed with LiteON-branded SATA III SSDs.

Acer packs a fair number of shortcuts onto S5’s desktop, including Acer Games, AcerCloud, eBay and Netflix shortcuts and more. Do you want to know the price? Well, let us tell you. It is priced at $1,400.
