Archos Arnova 8 G2 tablet (Rockchip RK2918) hits the FCC, gets friendly with metal yardsticks

Archos Arnova 8 G2 tablet (Rockchip RK2918) hits the FCC, gets friendly with metal yardsticks-Archos offers a number of low-cost Android tablet.  the company’s Archos brand offers even cheaper devices with lower quality components.  But if you’re looking for a bargain rather than the fastest processor or highest quality screen, you could probably do worse than an Arnova tablet, and according to an FCC listing it looks like a new model is on the way.
The Archos Arnova budget brand will soon gain a new 8-inch tablet. Now it’s not the best design but a budget tablet is never beautiful. The Arnova 8 G2 is going to be the follow-up to the sub-$200 Arnova 8, the first generation model was launched earlier this year right beside the 10-inch Arnova 10. The label on the front of the tablet reads “Arnova 8 G2” with an 8 inch display. The original had an 800 x 600 pixel resistive touchscreen display, Android 2.3 operating system, and 802.11b/g WiFi.
These are our anticipation the following specifications (to be confirmed):
- 8 inches capacitive screen
- Rockchip 2918 CPU
- Android 2.3 (Gingerbread)
- WIFI 802.11b/g upgraded to support 802.11n
- six hardware buttons
- front side speakers
