ASUS Eee Pad
Slider may launch in September

users who want the best of both tablet and traditional notebook worlds will be
well served by the Eee Pad Slider. judging by a recent report from Notebook
Italia and the tab's new product page, it looks like we may actually see a
September launch for the 10.1 ” IPS touch-screen for
finger-friendly use -- in Italy, also
the QWERTYfied tablet packs a 1280 x 800 WXGA display, dual-core 1GHz
NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, 1GB of memory, 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera, 5
megapixel rear-facing camera, USB 2.0, mini-HDMI, microSD card reader, WiFi and
Bluetooth, and will come in both 16GB and 32GB
versions for €479 and €599 price points overseas, while $400 and
$550 models should hit the US. Android 3.1 Honeycomb
is running the show, and ASUS promises that the Slider is upgradeable to
Android 3.2. ASUS has also included a number of productivity apps on the
Slider, including Polaris Office 3.0.
Built-in digital cameras on the front (1.2MP)
and rear (5MP) of the Slider allow for easy video chat and digital photography
while the Android® 3.0 operating system makes sharing photos by internet, email
and social media sites a breeze. The intuitive interface provides user-friendly
control via the capacitive touch-screen and optional onboard 3G allows for
go-anywhere internet access, making the Slider the ideal device for mobile
professionals with work-oriented needs. The Eee Pad Slide will be available in
both pearl white and metallic brown color options.
